   The concept                                                                         

The concept of precast structure also is known as prefabricated/modular structures which components are standardized and produced in plants in a location away from the building site than transported to the site for assembly.


   Production concepts for precast concrete elements   

  • Concrete elements, cast and cured in a manufacturing plant, then transported to the construction site.
  • Plant casting allows increased efficiency and higher quality control.
  • Durable, permanent steel forms are reused many times reducing formwork cost compared to site cast concrete.
  • Controlled casting conditions and high quality forms allow for greater control of surface finishes.
  • Structural elements are commonly reinforced with tightly stretched pre tensioned steel stands which provide increased structural efficiency.

   Assembly concepts for precast concrete buildings     

  • On the construction site, precast elements are lifted into place to assemble into a structural assemblies .
  • Compared to site cast concrete, precast concrete erection is faster and less affected by adverse weather condition. 
  • Vertical support can be provided by precast columns and beams, wall panels or a combination of all three.

  Advantages                                                                        

  1. Savings in  the cost, material and people
  2. Carpentry is not necessary
  3. The installation of all installations  and finishes can be done immediately
  4. The process of production is invariable from the weather
  5. Produced components are strictly controlled which ensures quality
